WHAT DO WE SUPPLY?

Our portfolio includes climate-resilient ancient grains such as fonio, pearl millet, teff, and sorghum, alongside nutrient-rich superfoods like baobab, tigernuts, moringa, hibiscus and bambara beans (tbc) sourced through trusted producer and processor partnerships across West, East, and Southern Africa.

Ingredients are available in multiple formats depending on application needs, including whole grains, gluten-free flours, powders, and dried botanicals for industrial use.

These underutilised ingredients have supported regional food systems for milenia and are increasingly valued for their nutritional qualities, adaptability to climate stress like droughts, and potential for wider use in modern food manufacturing.

HOW DO WE WORK?

We collaborate with smallholder farmers, women-led cooperatives, producer groups, and processors to coordinate transparent and scalable supply chains tailored to the needs of European ingredient buyers.

By supporting the introduction of climate-resilient African ingredients into international markets, we help manufacturers access reliable and sustainable sourcing options while contributing to the development of emerging agricultural value chains across the continent.

Our sourcing approach focuses on ingredients with strong production potential, enabling export opportunities to grow alongside resilient local and regional food systems.

We work with our partners to strengthen traceability, support consistent quality standards, and develop supply chains capable of scaling reliably with international manufacturer requirements.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Future Foods Africa works to expand the role of Africa’s climate-resilient ancient grains and nutrient-rich superfoods in global food supply chains by supporting consistent quality, scalable sourcing, and long-term producer partnerships.

Through this work, we contribute to more diverse sourcing options for manufacturers while supporting farmer livelihoods and strengthening resilient local and regional food systems across the continent.
